Traditional Celebrations


Dive into deep Mexico through its traditional patron-saint feasts. They are full of meaning, and always a colorful experience. Depending on the date of your arrival you can choose from a wide range of celebrations, pilgrimages, fairs and carnivals. Some festivals happen in Mexico City, while others require a 2 to 4 hour trip from Mexico City, depending on the town.

End of September Huey Atlixcayotl, in Atlixco, Puebla.
October 4th. Saint Francis day in Cuetzalan or Puebla City
November 1st and 2nd. All Saints festival in many towns "Dia de muertos". A World Intangible Heritage. Special tour on request.
December 12 Our Lady of Guadalupe festival in La Villa, massive celebration (Mexico Valley).
December last two weeks "Posadas" and Christmas events in Tepozotlan, "Pastorelas" (traditional Christmas play, where angels, demons and shepherds have the central roles, normally hilarious ones)
